Global Display unveils new mannequin range

Over the last few months, the team at Global Display has been working with Designer Christopher Beales to develop and introduce a new range of mannequins. Amid much excitement the time to unveil their beautiful mannequin has finally come!

“Etch”, as the range is fondly known, will grace the catwalk in the windows of a prestigious Knightsbridge Department store, during London Fashion week from 4th to 25th February. The visual impact of ”Etch” is astounding! So what makes the “Etch” range different to other ranges?

• Made from Biodegradable materials
• The nature of construction ensures that “Etch” uses up to 50% less material than a standard mannequin
• This makes it lighter which in turn means it’s cheaper to transport
• And above all this range is versatile and innovative!

Julie Foster, Head of Visual at Global Display comments-
‘Christopher approached us with the idea of going into partnership in producing the Etch body form. As soon as we saw the concept we jumped at the chance as we felt it was a product that brought something fresh to the visual merchandising Industry and had a lot of development potential. We have had a lot of positive feedback from our clients in the UK and overseas and this order for the LFW window scheme “Divine Inspiration” is hugely exciting for us.’

Christopher Beales has rapidly made a name for himself within the fashion circuits as the Creative Director of womenswear brand Le
Photographe. Recently exhibiting the Le Photographe SS15 collection at LFW in a presentatoion format he incorporated a new innovative body form called Etch, which he invented back in 2010.

“As it was a static exhibition I felt it important to create a strong visual impact throughout the show, not just with the garments but also with the lighting and visual aids. I was working as a costume maker for theatre and film at the time and I had a few chats with some prop makers who set me on my path to creating what I needed- a body form which I could make myself that would be fit for purpose whilst giving me the sense of drama I was looking for” – Christopher Beales.
