London based exhibition and display specialist manufacturer Tecna Display Ltd recently celebrate being awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for a second time, having received the first in 2012. It was awarded the accolade for outstanding achievement in the category of International Trade.
With the announcement being made on the 10th of May 2018, Tecna Display attended and hosted events for the award presentation in the following weeks.
The award ceremony and presentation consisted of two events; a reception held at Buckingham Palace for all Queen’s Award winners to meet each other as well as members of the Royal family and the second being the actual award presentation day, held at the winner's venue of choice.
On the 28th of June 2018, Tecna Display's Managing Director Jonathan Evitt and Director Ivan Shepherd visited Buckingham Palace for the winner's reception. The winners were hosted in one of the various foyers of the palace and were greeted by HRH Prince Charles, who shared a few words with each company's representatives.
The second award presentation ceremony took place on the 18th of July 2018 at Tecna Display's North London premises and was attended by the Tecna team, customers, suppliers, representatives from the Mayor's office of Haringey as well as the Queen’s representative.
The award was presented to Jonathan Evitt by Captain (Ret'd) Peter Baker RD DL RNR, the Deputy Lieutenant for the London Borough of Haringey on behalf of the Queen and the Deputy Mayor of Haringey, Councillor Sheila Peacock.
Captain Peter Baker had this to say, "What is so special about the Queen’s Award is that it is a distinction you have all worked for and achieved together as a team. And it is a distinction, because these Awards are greatly sought after and sparingly given. It is the highest award that can be bestowed to a UK business. I did a little research before coming here today and I can tell you that you are the only company in the Exhibition Display field to have won the Queen’s Award and you should be very proud of this achievement. What is rare and impressive is that you also received the award in 2012. I see this as evidence of the ambition you have as a team and the continuing hard work that you have put into the business over the years to ensure you remain at the very top of your game."
The award represents a huge honour and success for the Tecna Display family. Having the ability to display the Queen’s Award emblem, which although a UK award, has global reach and demonstrates to the world and Tecna's customers, that they can meet the highest standards of excellence which is central to the UK's competitiveness and prosperity.
